National Squad
This squad is designed for those swimmers who are fully committed to their swimming and have aspirations of competing at the highest possible level. Swimmers will need to have either National Age or State Open Qualifying times and be targeting Age and or Open Nationals. Swimmers are expected to attend all of the sessions on offer for this squad. This squad currently has 8 sessions per week with 7 recommended.
State Squad
This squad is designed for those swimmers who are fully committed to their swimming and have aspirations of competing at the highest possible level. Swimmers will need to have either State Age LC or Sprint times to be considered for this squad and generally over 12 years old. Swimmers are expected to attend as many of the sessions offered for this squad.
Junior Performance Squad
This squad is for those younger swimmers generally 12-13 and under as a pathway to the Performance Squad. Swimmers are targeting multiple State Sprint, State Long Course and Short Course times. Swimmers in this squad are expected to attend a minimum of 4 sessions a week with 7 sessions on offer. The training program is structured around performance at multiple competitions throughout the year under the guidance of our Head Junior coach.
Development Squad
This is our first level of squad training. This is also a competitive squad designed for those who are regular competitors at both club, district and school meets. Swimmers in this squad are made up of two basic streams. Those who are new to squad swimming straight out of a learn to swim program and looking at taking their swimming to the next level and swimmers that are looking to move up into the Performance Squad as their skills and aerobic capacity develops and their commitment to swimming evolves. This squad has 6 sessions available a week with swimmers looking at between 3-4 sessions a week depending on where they‘re at in their development.
Fitness Squad
Our fitness squad is designed for those swimmers aged generally over 9-10 years old who are looking to improve their fitness through a structured, regular Freestyle based swimming program. This squad is ideal for life savers, footballers, netballers or just general all round sports people. With two sessions a week, four to choose from, this is ideal way of keeping fit. This squad can also lead to our competitive swimming pathway if the swimmer would like to change direction.
